MAN AGAINST MAN

.....it's a recurring subject since time immemorial...

take a look around....it's almost everywhere...

no one seems to realize and understand but ...

it's a demented idea to impose power over another
in one form or another...

....i'll tell you this...
no one will live forever
so for enemies to exist
over a long
period of time....

simply is absurd...

nature has a way of dealing
with it...
at least one of them will disappear from
the face of the earth  ...

either by sickness or old age
to cause his death....

that's how short life is...

the point is enjoy life while you've got it...
dealing with hatred and creating enemies
is a waste of time...

MALAYSIAN AIRLINE UPDATE...

...there are simpler pleasures in life that bring
peace to one's mind...
thought energies
don't go to waste
when directed to achieving them...

the art of painting had been therapeutic
to a lot of those besieged by worries
beyond description...
Churchill at one point
made sure he painted
perhaps to forget
and get away from
society's ill thoughts
of his time...
My fellow artists surely
exhibit happy faces
when doing their artworks...

......when the moon appears super or closer to the earth....

and people wear happy faces.... humanities is all over....
except in a few sections of the planet where misunderstanding
and political disagreements result in mistakes and lives are lost
under the pretext of whatever....

The news this morning
of the Malaysian Airlines
crashing in Ukraine
was devastating....
295 passengers and crews
died in the mishap....
nobody yet knows
what happened...
but our prayers go
to the victims
and their families ...

.... in the bay area....
the populace aspire to achieve a semblance of
a peaceful getaway for everyone ....
to feel
there is hope despite all the
confusing commotions
San Franciscans on their way home from work...
 happening elsewhere....
the cable car with passengers clinging on the hand rails
i had a chance to sketch with KJ at the Montara light house
a few weeks ago....
KJ with the light house in the background....

it was an overcast warm and breezeless
afternoon....
so we were able to concentrate
on our work...
getting rid of the annoying sand in her shoes
It was completely a productive and relaxing day
for us .....

that's all folks!

i'll catch you tomorrow...

1929 FORD MODEL A

...once in a great while...gems like this

show up to remind us....
there was a technology and intellectuality....
after the turn of the century
where design and functionality were paramount and the
idea of obsolescence is not taken into consideration as
a marketing idea to squeeze profits from the unwary consumer...

1929 Ford model A at SF Stonestown Mall

sitting right next to each other....
the old Ford and the new Mercedes
.... the latter
pales in comparison...

though there is a great tendency to romanticize
something beautiful from almost a century
ago....

one wonders what in tarnation
happened in between ....
then and now
to society's thinking....

we know it can be done....
to create something that will survive the test
of time by way of function...
but greed and whatever
spoils the fun...

and so we see around us
 fast foods and
merchandises whose
life span is brief and
intentionally outmoded
for profits.

and that is that!

that's all folks!

Marine Mammals Center

..... the Marine mammals center is a rehabilitation

hospital in the Marin Headlands...

 for elephant seals...

sea lions and dolphins ....

Pacific ocean view from the Marine Mammals Center parking lot
solar panels
they came into being in 1975
when two friends with pioneering
spirits noticed the needs of injured,
abandoned and sick mammals...

fishing nets
from there word of mouth about the cause of the organization
gathered favors from
foundations for financial support
as well as caring volunteers...

it's the only facility in the country that's
open to the public for free....

undernourished seals

Trisha is one of the hundreds of volunteers
who moved from Washington and teaches
at a nearby college
i came across the facility while scouting
for a location to paint....

you might want to check it out when
you're in the Headlands...

that's all folks!

i'll catch you later...

LAND OF THE GIANTS 3RD PART

.....the next morning i got up early and found

a meadow nearby....

this is the early morning light around 6a.m.

pretty quiet ....
there's only me disturbing the silence
in the woods....

and few little creatures....

dipper perhaps...not too sure

blue jay
forest squirrel
looking for breakfast....

the park cafe opens just about this time....
so i grabbed my brewed coffee to warm up my
tummy and to awaken all my
other senses...

in order to enjoy the scenery at the
meadow which is slowly unfolding...

at the cafe during breakfast
we sat at the corner with a view of the meadow....
and discovered just outside the window...
in the ceiling....
a nest...

and soon thereafter the mom
flew in with a worm...

....the day went on
and we found ourselves....to this lovely lake....
Lake Hume...

pristine ....

zoom in and we find these people enjoying their
quiet corner of the lake
meditating...
that's the pictorial dimension
of the weekend memorial trip
to the
land of the giants...

i'll catch you folks,
later....
