I was unable to catch the art in the park community show
in Salcedo park today so i don't know what to tell you
but last Thursday I went to a photo show at the Altro
Mondo art gallery in Greenbelt 5 Makati about Philippine
birds. The avian show is a campaign effort of
a group of photographers to educate the public in their
preservation. The funny thing about this show
is they had a soprano performing for the event
but the show attendees drowned her out with their cacophony
of sounds. Nobody cared to listen as if she were not part
of the art show. It felt like an insult. It's a pity her "Sa Kabukiran"
song took less than 5 minutes which I would assume considerable
amount of rehearsal time was spent with the guitar player to
get it right for the crowd to mug it like culture didn't
matter. I think some people have to be reminded
and educated about other cultural matters and manners.
Anyway, so now I'm just watching Gambit the 1966 movie
that starred Michael Caine and Shirley Maclane. It's beautifully
scripted and the acting is great but i think Billy Wilder might have
made it even more funnier. These are things i'd love to do when
i hunger for entertainment. I dig the old movies for some reason.
They opened the Soleire Casino yesterday and it was packed with
gamblers and what have you. It was cool but felt short of Vegas type
atmosphere. The streets leading to the casino was bumper to bumper.
I'll update you about interesting things when i get them.
I'll continue my movie watching I have Billy Wilder's Avanti
next on my video screening.
good night folks.
It's now 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
