Hello to all who take the cabs in Manila !!!
Just had the pleasure of chatting with Lito, a cabbie who initiated a friendly
conversation that led to critiquing the government in the way administrators
had been resolving and resolving and again resolving the same problems that
keep on propping up despite supposedly great solutions as they were called at the
time of formulation. Lito is a sharp person and seems to make sensible observations
in and about the community in which we live in. Take for instance the Pasig river
pollution and clean up. His thought of cleaning up the Pasig river makes
a lot of good sense for it goes down to the root cause of pollution which is the
the population of squatters who on a daily basis dump their trash into the river.
To him moving the squatters out of the proximities of the river is the best solution.
It's really very simple and down to earth solution if you come to think of it. The
senators or whoever is in charge of cleaning up the river should have thought of this.
Also we did not have to wait till the squatters have quietly populated the surroundings
of the river before moving in to remind them that they're not supposed to be there.
The government has to have a watchdog doing this.
Well life is always exciting to watch as ubiquitous cabbies like Lito roam the
streets of Manila and share their honest observations. If we have people like him
with keen and pragmatic sense holding on the reigns of our government we
would probably be in better shape, don't you think so?
To Lito and your fellow compatriots, I for one could hardly wait for the time when
at least even in the Barangay level you could implement your bright ideas and relieve
us once and for all of simple elementary problems of getting resolved.
catch you guys later.
